Hypothesising

According to Merriam Webster dictionary, a hypothesis refers to an assumption made that needs to be tested. It signifies the early stages of research, where there is little to no evidence and calls for an investigation to be conducted in order to prove whether the hypothesis is true. Hypothesising is one of the signs of an epitome learning environment. It demonstrates that the learner has been confronted with an inquiry-based or problem-solving learning environment or has internalised information and independently devised his or her own questions to test or disprove. In my example of hypothesising, I seek to test whether andragogy, as oppose to pedagogy, can help young learners think critically, develop their metacognition and so on.
